Everybody accepts that the creation of Ibadan State is overdue. Even though the National Assembly is yet to tell Nigerians how many new States will be created, we believe that, if there is justice and fairplay, even if only one state will be created from the South-West geo-political zone, that state must be Ibadan State. We are not un-aware that there are presently five requests from this zone, Ibadan State is the most qualified and the one most economically viable with adequate administrative and social infrastructure. The political history of the South-West and Edo, and Delta, is surely on our side. But my compatriots, we need to work very hard to beat all opposition.
