Duties of Youth Development and Empowerment Committee – Economic/Social
- To advise the CCII EXCO from time to time on matters concerning education and manpower development as it affects Ibadanland;
- To regularly organize educational counseling, career talks and workshops for secondary school students in Ibadanland;
- To process applications for full scholarship awards to indigent students of Secondary/Tertiary institutions and submit recommendations to the Executive Council periodically;
- To relate with and assist graduate job seekers on daily presentation of self, work attitudes, record keeping, employability, accountability, job retention and continuous self-improvement including computer awareness;
- To establish and keep expanding business avenues, contacts and Job links for our youths for full employments and attachments;
- To establish avenues for vocational skills acquisition in demand areas, attachments and entrepreneurship development;
- To assist specific groups to form cooperatives to enhance access to business funds and facilities;
- To give quarterly feedback to the Executive Council.
- Organize Employment Training and Attitudinal Re-orientation for our Youth
- To Generate Employment for Ibadan Indigenes from Public and Private Establishments in Ibadanland by leveraging on our “Host Community Rights & Privileges”
- Formalize the jobs of Ibadan Artisans – Bricklayers, Carpenters, Plumbers, Tilers etc.
- To understudy countries like Ghana, China and Malaysia on how to turn Bamboo and Palm trees to economic use
- To visit the Vocational and Artisan centres in Ghana/Burkina Faso to gain cross-country experience.
- Resuscitate the Vocational Centres at Oranyan, Oke-Aremo etc. as Artisan Colleges.
- To present Ibadan as the Centre for employment of guaranteed Artisans, Drivers, Security men all over Nigeria.
- To Educate our youths on the dangers of going to “fagburu” – in Libya, South Africa, etc.
- To contact private/public institutions in Ibadanland for provision of full Scholarship Awards to indigent Ibadan students on basis of at least 5 per annum.
- To establish Graduate Intership and Alternative Skills Training Programmes.
- To organize Monthly Business Advise Forum (BAF) with details on Capital, Biz Plan, Viability Analysis, Sources of Funds, Incorporation, Management etc.
- To create a repository of Ibadan Youths under the name Talent Banks and Brain Reserve
- To meet at least once a week
- Come up with Operational Modalities and Fund Generating Initiatives
- Members to Drop their Recommendations/suggestions for each Committee at Ibadan House: Committee meeting day with the EXCO is every Thursday
- Each Committee Chairman/Rep to be ready for progress report at G.A. Meetings
